The 2026 Yamaha YZF-R7 - " Supersport Performance Refined
The 2026 Yamaha YZF-R7 has arrived at Whatever Wheels, completely redefined to deliver the ultimate middleweight Supersport experience. Taking the already thrilling CP2 platform to new heights, the R7 now features a comprehensive electronics suite and chassis upgrades that make it more dynamic, confidence-inspiring, and track-ready than ever before.

This is the perfect bike for riders looking for genuine Supersport feel, class-leading CP2 power, and R1-derived technology without the extreme cost of a litre bike.

Electronics Revolution: R1 DNA in the Middleweight Class
The R7 finally gets the brains to match its brawn, thanks to the introduction of the R1-developed 6-axis IMU. This is a game-changer for the middleweight sports bike segment:
  • Rider Aids: The IMU enables a new suite of fully customisable electronic aids, including a three-stage, lean-sensitive Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control (SCS), Lift Control (LIF), and Brake Control (BC).
  • Yamaha Ride Control (YRC): Choose from three preset modes (SPORT, STREET, RAIN) or create two fully customisable settings via the MyRide app.
  • YCC-T Throttle: The introduction of Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) ensures a smoother, more linear torque curve from the 689cc CP2 engine.

Refined Chassis, Ultimate Agility
The goal for 2026 was a more refined, dynamic handling experience. Yamaha engineers went to town on the chassis:
  • Rigidity Optimised: The frame sees major changes to the pipe layout, diameter, and thickness, resulting in improved torsional, longitudinal, and lateral rigidity.
  • SpinForged Wheels: The R7 adopts Yamaha- ?s lighter, more agile SpinForged wheels, fitted with high-grip Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres.
  • Fully Adjustable Suspension: The 41mm inverted front forks now feature aluminium piston rods, reducing weight, and are fully adjustable for preload, rebound, and compression damping.
  • Braking & Shifting: Benefit from a sophisticated Brake Control (BC) system and the Third Generation Quick Shift System (QSS), enabling seamless clutchless up AND down shifts.

R-Series Design & Connectivity
The R7 receives sleek and aerodynamic next-generation R-Series design, aligning its aesthetic with the R1 and R9.
  • New Cockpit: A 5-inch full-colour TFT display offers four themes, plus a dedicated Track Mode focusing on the lap-timer.
  • Y-TRAC Rev: Log and analyse your riding data, including lean angle and speed, using the free Y-TRAC Rev app- "you can even get messages on your dash from your 'pit crew'.
  • Convenience: Cruise Control is now standard for longer motorway journeys, along with a Speed Limiter and intuitive, auto-cancelling indicator switches.

Celebrate Yamaha's 70-year heritage! The R7 is available in the stunning, limited-edition 70th Anniversary colours (evoking the 1999 R7), plus Icon Performance and Midnight Black.

Stop riding. Start racing. Visit Whatever Wheels to experience the revolutionary 2026 YZF-R7!

YAMAHA YZF R7 2026 FEATURES

Its 270° crank delivers a responsive feel with a signature CP2 growl, while Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) ensures precise power delivery for confident control with every twist of the wrist, on road or track.
R1-developed 6-axis IMU

Yamaha Ride Control with Customisable Settings
Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) lets riders tailor the R7- ?s character to suit their mood or the moment. Three factory modes - Sport, Street and Rain - are complemented by two fully customisable setups via the MyRide app, allowing riders to fine-tune power delivery and electronic support.

Each system intervenes subtly and predictably, enhancing stability and allowing riders to push their limit with total confidence on road or track.
More rigid and agile chassis
Almost every element of the new R7's frame has been refined, from pipe layout and wall thickness to reinforcement points to improve rigidity while maintaining the same weight. Its 41mm fully adjustable inverted forks now feature lightweight aluminium piston rods to reduce weight for a sharper response and precise, agile handling.
Refined, more comfortable riding position
Revised ergonomics make the new R7 easier to live with every day. Re-positioned handlebars and a reshaped fuel tank give you more room to move, while a lower 830mm seat height and R1-style footpegs help you feel planted yet relaxed - " whether you're commuting, carving corners or cruising home after a long ride.
Power Modes, Launch Control and Lift Control
Three selectable Power Modes let you tailor throttle response from smooth to sporty, while Lift Control manages front wheel lift under hard acceleration to maintain absolute control when pushing the limits. Race-style Launch Control ensures fast, consistent starts - letting the R7 show its sleek, race-inspired rear to those left behind.
Third-Generation Quick Shift System (QSS)
Yamaha- ?s latest Quick Shift System delivers faster, smoother gear changes for the slickest and most sporty shift experience ever on an R7. Two selectable settings let you choose between clutchless up and downshifts in either acceleration or deceleration, with re-engineered gearbox components ensuring seamless performance on road or track.
5" TFT display with full connectivity

Four selectable themes keep key info clear at a glance, including a dedicated Track Mode which prioritises key performance information with a lap timer for when you're 'under the bubble'. Smartphone connectivity via Yamaha's MyRide app adds navigation, notifications and data-sharing - " keeping you informed, connected and in control.
Y-TRAC Rev - " Feel Like a Racer
The R7's Y-TRAC Rev app transforms every ride into a data-driven MotoGP-like experience. Log lap and sector times, lean angles, speed and more - " then analyse or compare your performance like a pro. With optional virtual pitboard messaging and GPS tracking, Y-TRAC Rev delivers factory-level pit garage data analysis so you can ride, review and race harder every session
Refined Aerodynamics
The new R7's sleeker, slimmer fairing and re-sculpted chin spoiler improve airflow efficiency and cooling while enhancing its sharp, race-bred silhouette. SpinForged Wheels and Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres
For the first time, the R7 adopts Yamaha's ultra-light SpinForged wheels to reduce overall weight and deliver quicker and more agile handling. Paired with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres, which deliver outstanding grip and feedback for confident, precise cornering, the new R7 feels easier to flick around and dive into every corner.
70th Anniversary Yamaha Racing Colours
